James D. Engel, age 83, of Neshkoro, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, November 12, 2019 at his home. He was born July 25, 1936 in Chicago the son of Alex and Clara (Shamanski) Engel. He married Janice Huth on June 10, 2006.
James served his country in the United States Army. After his service to his country, he worked as Vice President for an advertising agency in Chicago for 30 years. James an active member of St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro where he served as an usher. He was also active in the Neshkoro community as a member of Friends of the White River and the Krause-Gley-Crane American Legion Post 423 of Neshkoro. He lived his life in serenity and peace.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Huth-Engel, Neshkoro; his two sons, James (Jeff) Claudia Engel and Steven (Renata) Engel; his loving grandchildren, Jeanette, Michael, Mathew, Andrew and Alex; his great granddaughter, Mia; his sister, Connie Shivers and brother, Alex (Iola) Engel; further survived by other relatives and special friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Stahl Celebration and Remembrance Center, Wautoma and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.
