Anthony J. Sweeney

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Anthoney (Tony) J Sweeney Jr on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the age of 78.

Tony was a self-taught auto mechanic, who loved his work and was always ready to help others. Tony spent more than 23 years at Mercury Marine and proudly served in the United States Army for four years. Tony served his country with honor.

Tony’s greatest joy was his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Anthoney will be remembered for his kindness, humor and generous heart.

Tony is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joan Sweeney, his children, Roger Sweeney (Bobbi), Darcy Peckham (Joseph) and James Sweeney (Chrisy), 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also remembered with love by Joan’s family; son Greg, daughter Sheila Pasono (Mike) 17 Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and their extended family.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Anthoney J. Sweeney Sr., his mother, Bernice Sweeney, two brothers and one sister.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Stahl Funeral Home, 913 W. North Street, Plainfield, WI from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. with services at 11:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Veteran Affairs organization or charity of your choice. Tony’s love, service and joyful spirit will live on in all who knew him.
