Calvin (Cal) Tansor journeyed to heaven peacefully on August 28th, 2026 at the Heartland House in Wautoma.

Cal was born on January 31st, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Elizabeth Tansor. He grew up in Illinois. After graduation, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps at the end of WWII in the Pacific Theater, where he served in the military police. After his service, he married his wife, Mary, and started a family.

Cal was proud to work for Peoples Gas and then continued on to become Commissioner and Arbitrator of the Illinois Industrial Commission. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He was an original founding member of the Greenwood Rod and Gun Club.

Cal was one of the most caring people you would ever meet. He was a friend to all and always willing to help and give advice. He was deeply religious and always prayed for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Tansor; his sons James (Rosanne) Tansor, Scott Tansor, Robert (Alice) Tansor; his daughter Michelle (Russell) Bayro; his six loving grandchildren Kristen (Kevin) Kelly, Kim (Justin) Blondin, Julia Tansor, Brian Tansor, Allison Bayro, Alec Bayro; and great-grandchildren Caitlin and Landon. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon, granddaughter Christie, seven brothers, and one sister. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church (622 Beach Street) in Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services at the church. Additional services will be held in Arlington Heights, Illinois when a day and time of established.
