Carl J. Merola Jr. age 74, of Hancock, passed away unexpectedly, September 3, 2019 at his home.
He was born January 27, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. the son of Carl J. and Martha Nichols Merola Sr. He married Judy A. Sandretto on April 23, 1976, she survives.
Carl served his country in the United States Navy, and was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight. Carl worked many years for General Electric in management, and was later employed at Toshiba until his retirement in 1998. He moved to Hancock in the same year where he was active with the Hancock Lions Club, the Coloma Players, and the Hancock/Coloma American Legion. Carl enjoyed spending time at his home on Fish Lake.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Judy A. Merola; his children, Jodi C. Bush and Cari J. Merola; his grandson Charles M. Bush; his brother Joseph Merola; stepchildren Chris Maiorano, Cathie Schanz, and Steven Lirette; special friends Jim and Kay Zelinka and Ira and Karen Giesi, as well as other relatives and friends.
