Dean H. Eger, age 83, of Plainfield, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Timber Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stevens Point.
He was born September 17, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Gilbert and Grace (Jahnke) Eger. Dean graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 1960. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961.
Dean married Arlene A. Osterhaus, and together they moved to the Redgranite area where they owned and operated Edgewood Restaurant. Dean drove Greyhound bus for 10 years. Then he owned and operated The Whitehouse Supper Club and Motel in Upper Michigan, followed by Lake Church Country Inn near Lake Michigan until the early 1980s. Then he moved to Wautoma and opened Sir Lustre Car Wash and Detail Shop. He sold the shop and became a national sales representative for Kippered Beef out of South Dakota, then a sales representative for Jack Links Beef Snacks. His last venture was with his wife, Windows Plus in Plainfield.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Eger of Plainfield; his daughter, Peggy Eger (Pat Schumacher) of Wautoma; his son Butch (Julie) Eger of Wautoma. He is further survived by two step-grandchildren, Tyler Wagner and Travis (Brittany) Wagner, and five step-grandchildren.
In accordance with Dean’s wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield assisted the family with arrangements.
