Harold E. Dampier

Harold E. Dampier Jr., was born on April 27, 1940 to Harold and Margaret Dampier in the town of Pine Grove, Portage County, where he grew up on his family’s farm until joining the workforce. Harold worked at Admiral Corp where he met his wife Katie until the company closed its doors.

Harold and Katie were joined in marriage on October 28, 1972. They moved back to Plainfield where they raised Duane, Linda and Dawn. Once back home, Harold took on potato farming until his retirement. When he wasn’t in a tractor, he could be found in his garden or boat fishing. He also enjoyed camping, which included more fishing and tinkering on anything electronic. Harold had a full life with family and friends until he passed away at his home on June 9, 2026.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Dampier; his five children, Duane (Jolene) Dampier, Linda (Dan) Meisner, Wiliam (Nancy) Dampier, Karen Dunbar and Dawn Epperson; further survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and special friends.

To honor Harold’s wishes, private family services will be held. He will be laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
