James W. “Jim” Schallock, age 78, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born February 20, 1947 in Milwaukee, the son of William and Bernice (Peterson) Schallock. He married the love of his life, Sherri L. Bowman on June 24, 1978 in Wautoma.
Jim served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970 when he was honorably discharged. He later began his career at GE Medical Services in Waukesha until moving to Wautoma in 1978. He then began working as an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved watching his daughters and grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was an amazing wife to Sherri L. Schallock; an inspirational daddy to his daughters, Jodi (Brian) Gustke and Lindsay Schallock; his greatest legacy and role in life was being an amazing Papa to his loving grandchildren, Kendall (Peter Idsvoog), Brody and William Gustke, Molli, Tait Keller and Ember Eastling ; his sister, Sharon Bradshaw and his fur baby sidekicks, Kahlua Mae and Charli; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Donna Bowman; his sister, Marilyn and brothers-in-law, Richard Zuege and Dale Bradshaw and nephew, Jeff Bradshaw.
A time to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Stahl Celebration & Remembrance Center, Wautoma from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Full military honors will follow the prayer service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jim’s name.
