Marlene E. Strom, age 72, of Wild Rose, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Thursday evening, November 27, 2025 at her home.
She was born July 9, 1953 in Evanston, Illinois the daughter of Marshall and Lillian (Holvay) Brooke. She married William “Bill” D. Strom on August 19, 1972 in Palatine, Illinois.
Marlene grew up in Illinois working in real estate before eventually joining Walgreens as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. She later moved to Wild Rose to enjoy her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano and camping. She operated Simply Scandi giftshop in King with her daughter, Stacie. She was a member of the Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Strom; her two children, Andrew (Amanda) Strom and Stacie (Ryan) Dassow; two grandchildren, Abigail and Ethan and one step grandson, Cody Brummeyer; one brother, Michael Brooke; one step great granddaughter, Elaina; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Donna Brooke.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Celebration & Remembrance Center, W7452 State Road 21/73, Wautoma. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of services.
