Orin W Nigh passed April 3, 2025, in Wisconsin Rapids. He was born July 19, 1949, in the Town of Pine Grove to George & Charlotte (Ennenga) Nigh.
On March 5, 1983, he married Charlotte Winkler. In his younger years he worked as a police officer for the Village of Plainfield & Hancock. He also was a bus driver for many years. In 1982 he started work at Ore-Ida, which later became McCain Foods. He held several positions there until his retirement in 2012. He served on the board for the town of Leola for many decades. He also did road maintenance of plowing snow, grading, & mowing for the townships of Leola, Plainfield, Pine Grove, Oasis, & Grant.
He is survived by his children: Joe (Kathy) Winkler, Todd (Robin) Winkler, Priscilla (Ronnie) Patterson, & Dale (Debbie) Winkler; Grandkids Ryan Miller, Chasity Patterson, Tyler (Lindsay) Patterson, Justin (Christine) Winkler, Derreck (Beth) Winkler, Nathan (Hannah) Patterson, Desarae (Alex) Esser, Rachel (Joel) Lalgee, Caleb (Kelsey) Winkler; 17 great grandkids, 1 great-great grandson, & 1 great granddaughter on the way. His brothers Irv (Phyllis), Harvey (Joan), Elwyn (Patricia), George (Tonya), Brian (Kim), & sister Elveta. Sisters-in-law, Karen & Barb Nigh, Berdine (Ed) Leavit, Edna (Doug) Reilly, & brother-in-law, Daniel Sparks.
He was preceded by his parents, his loving wife Charlotte, brothers Harlan & Hugh, sister Charlene (Raymond) Applebee, sisters-in-law, Jean Rhoda & Bobbie Sparks, brothers-in-law, Oliver & Dexter Sparks.
Memorial Services will be Thursday April 10th in the New Life Church in Plainfield. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11:00 am with funeral service at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Wisconsin Health Service nursing home & Heartland Hospice for the care they provided Orin.
