Paul “Leif” Erickson, age 70, of Hancock, Wi, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Sunday, June 14th, 2026 at The House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI with his wife, Annette, by his side.
Paul was born in Portage, WI on December 8, 1955 to Louis & Betty (Smith) Erickson. The family moved to Columbus, Wi and finally settled in Hancock, Wi where Paul lived the remainder of his life.
Paul graduated high school at Tri-County School, Plainfield, Wi. Paul shared so many stories of mischief with his friends, the majority of his shenanigans involving his friends and their cars. Oh the stories they could tell! During his school years, he did form close bonds with so many of his classmates - close bonds that continue to this day!
Paul worked his entire life as a diesel technician, first for Schneider Transport, then for 40+ years at Plainfield Trucking, Inc. He was always proud to be able to see the trucks he fixed travel safely down the road.
As for those who knew him would agree, Paul never shied away from hard work, providing for his family. Paul had many passions including deer hunting with his father, buddies, and his son. Hunting was more than a pastime - it was tradition! His love for hunting will live on through all their stories. He was also an avid fan of watching NASCAR, attending many races. He was also fond of the Green Bay Packers and watching the Brewers. Once he retired, he could be found every morning watching The Price is Right.
His fond memories will live on in the hearts of those who survive him: his wife, Annette. His children son Brett (Kristle) Erickson, estranged daughter Hilary (Joe) Cox, daughter Megan (Danny) Holland. Grandchildren Hunter Erickson, Riley Erickson, Westley Cox, Devin Cox, Jacob Holland, Christian Holland, and Nova Holland. Sister Patty (Jeff) Kunkel. And several nieces.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law.
Per Paul’s and the family’s wishes, no service will be held.
The family would like to thank the staff of The House of the Dove for their kind, compassionate care and dignity they provided Paul during his short stay. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all that offered prayers, love and support. Paul will be deeply missed & forever remembered.
