Raymond "Ray" L. Applebee, Sr.

Raymond “Ray” L. Applebee, SR. age 72, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening May 5, 2024 at his home with his family at his side.

He was born August 24, 1951 at home in Adams County the son of Donald E. and Laura M. (Lang) Applebee.  He married Charlene Nigh on December 4, 1971. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2019.

Ray grew up in the Nekoosa area and raised his family in Plainfield, while he worked at Plainfield Trucking for over 20 years as a local truck driver.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his children, Ray Jr., Charyn (Louis) and Don (Julia); grandchildren, Raymond (Danielle), Rachel (Dylan), Ryan (Brittany), Rayne, Tanya (Matt), Charleigh (Rich), Anthony, Zack (Lexi) and Elijah (Taylor); great grandchildren, Raymond IV, Harli, Emma, Emmett, Kameron, Delilah, Keagan, Rory, Hudson, Olivia, Tristen, Zoey and Baby Girl Applebee. Siblings, Donna Nelson, Phyllis & Irv Nigh, further survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to his wife Charlene, he was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Donna Applebee.
