Robert (Bob) R. Pemble of Grafton, WI, formerly of Pine River and Wautoma, passed away peacefully early Easter Sunday morning April 5, 2026, at the age of 95, at Harvest Home Memory Care facility in Grafton, WI.
He was born November 22, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Fred D. and Margaret (Siebensohn) Pemble. He married C. Virgene Poole on September 10, 1982.
Robert was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI. After graduation he enrolled in the Wisconsin Air National Guard until he was called to active duty in the Air Force in September 1951 and served until July 1952. After the Air Force, Bob returned to the Guard where he served until September 1964, retiring as a Captain. Bob had a wonderful career in sales with Western Building Products (Milwaukee) for 45 years, retiring in 1994. Bob married Bonnie J. (Eitel) in 1951, they had two children and were married for 27 years. After his marriage to Virgene they built and shared a wonderful life together in the Wautoma and Pine River areas until her passing in December 2019.
Bob loved being outside in God's creation. He was either hiking, camping, cutting firewood, hunting, or fishing. He enjoyed wood working and gardening as well as just watching the birds and animals.
Service to community was very important to Bob and was realized through decades of leadership service to the YMCA and with The Potawatomi Area Boy Scout Council. Roles included troop leader, Scout Master, and Council President of the Potawatomi Area Council from 1980-1982. He received the Boy Scout Sliver Beaver award for dedicated service to youth in October 1977. More recently he was active in Gideon International for over 25 years, including his service to inmates in the Wautoma area jails/prisons, where he was affectionately known as “Bible Bob”. His passion was sharing his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with others.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Ann) Pemble, Port Washington, Julie (Norman) Peterson, Grantsburg; his grandchildren, Bjorn (Tabetha) Peterson, Dresser; and Soren Peterson, Grantsburg. Further survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many wonderful caring friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Virgene.
The family extends their great appreciation for wonderful loving care of the Harvest Home staff, Grafton, WI. Funeral Services will be held at Waushara Community Church in Wautoma and burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Service times are pending at the time of publication for the Waushara Argus.
