Hancock – Thaddeus “Ted” Anthony Borkowski, age 77, of Hancock, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his home with his wife and four children at his side.

He was born June 5, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Henry and Marie (Olecki) Borkowski. He married JoAnn Madajewski on June 18, 1960 in Milwaukee.

Ted served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1965. He was a machinist at the OilGear Company for 43 years. He also held the position of Union Steward and President during his tenure. Ted was very active in his communities, and worked several years on the Tichigan Lake Planning & Zoning committees.

After retirement, Ted and his wife JoAnn moved to Hancock, WI. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was active with the Knights of Columbus for thirteen years, achieving his 4th degree.  He attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield WI, where he actively participated in the Finance and Building committees.  Since 2003, Ted was a member of the Town Board of Colburn, serving as a Supervisor and Chairman.

Ted will be sadly missed by his children: Teddy Jr (Andrea), Ron (Ann),  Julie (Jim Gruettner) and Sharon (Morgano.) Grandfather to Eric, Marc, Cory, Ryan, Rebecca, Rachel, Sammy (Lorenzo Bono), Austin (Judy Gruettner), Jessica (Nick Marchant) and Michael. Great Grandfather to Gracie and Lorenzo (Bono.) Ted was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Borkowski.

The Borkowski family would like to thank Ted’s many caregivers, especially the staff at Heartland Hospice Care, Stevens Point, WI.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 622 S. Beach Street,Plainfield, WI from 9AM-11AM. Memorial Mass celebrated at 11AM. The Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield is assisting the family with arrangements. www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com
