Wild Rose

Thomas Matthew Scholler 85, of Wild Rose passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, at his home.

He was born October 11, 1940, in Oconomowoc WI, the son of Matthew and Olive (Durnford) Scholler. He grew up in Oconomowoc and attended Catholic Memorial High School, graduating in 1959. He married his best friend Judith (Ernst) Scholler on November 9, 1959, sharing 60 beautiful years together. Judy preceded him in death on March 30, 2019.

After graduating from high school, he served his county in the United States Air Force from February 6, 1959, to November 5, 1963. During his time in the Air Force, he received multiple awards & commendations, completed various technical courses and achieved the rank of Senior Airmen. After serving in the Air Force, Tom worked as a customer service representative for Kearney & Trecker, West Allis WI, and finished his career at Giddings & Lewis, Fond du Lac WI. He traveled throughout the country, troubleshooting and servicing machines at various customer facilities until his retirement in 2017. He loved watching football and especially his Packers, hunting, camping, target shooting, fishing, tending to his garden, spending time outdoors and watching the various wildlife that passed through his front yard. Tom always loved to create, even making his own long bow and his own violin which he would admit was not as easy to learn to play as he had hoped! He was also an extremely talented woodsmith, creating works of art on his wood lathe. More recently Tom found joy in trying new recipes and getting cooking advice from America’s Test Kitchen. He really enjoyed trying new methods of making one of his favorite meals, chili, and he had a personal quest to create the perfect potato chip! Tom had a great sense of humor and was a master at dad jokes. His greatest love was spending time with his family.

Tom is survived by his five children, Beth Scholler, Michael Scholler, Gwendolyn Scholler, Daniel (Shelly) Scholler and Gregory Scholler. His three grandchildren, Andrea (Isaac) Petrowitz, Brittany Scholler and Nicole Scholler. His two great grandchildren, Oliver Scholler and Caydence Scholler. His siblings, Judith (Robert) Osborne, Lawrence Scholler, James (Kathi) Scholler, John Scholler, his Sister-in-Law Mary Ernst, and many nieces, nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his parents, two grandsons, Jace Scholler, Michael Scholler and sister Patricia (Scholler) Tester.

Thomas will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King at a private family ceremony, date to be determined. Stahl Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements, www.stahlfuneralhome.com
