William Anthony “Bill” Lehr of Wautoma passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, with his family by his side.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As a journeyman plumber, Bill dedicated much of his life to the family business established in 1962, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout the community.
On April 18, 1981, Bill married the love of his life, Tammy (Chase) Lehr. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and hard work. Their three children were Bill’s world: Amber (Josh) Gabrilska, Arron (Jen) Lehr, and Avery (Dustin) Farrar. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Gage and Tate Gabrilska, and Reed and Isla Lehr, who brought him endless joy.
Bill is also survived by his mother, Carol Lehr; siblings Jim (Kim) Lehr, Julie Steele, and Joe (Nicole) Lehr; sister-in-law Sue Eagan; brother-in-law Dave (Jenny) Chase; father-in-law Gordon (Sharon) Chase; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Lehr, and mother-in-law, Shirley Chase.
Bill enjoyed the simple things that brought people together — hunting, sports, snowmobiling, racing, trucks, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved coaching his children through sports and life, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and support. Known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and love for animals, Bill lived life fully and valued the people around him above all else.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Waushara Community Church, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at the Marion Cemetery.
Bill will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bill’s name.
