Anthony "Tom" Thomas Jones Sr.

Anthony T. “Tom” Jones Sr., age 73, of Hancock, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, February 16, 2022 at his home with his family at his side after a short illness.

He was born December 23, 1948 in Milwaukee, the son of Jerome and Sarah (Cleary) Jones.  He married Deborah D. Wagner on November 5, 1975. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2007.

Tom moved to the Hancock area in 1986. Tom worked as a custodian for many years in the Wautoma Area School District, the Wautoma Care Center and at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma.  He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma and served on the church counsel. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren attending band concerts, sporting events, backyard camping adventures, mowing lawn, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.  His love for animals could be seen around his home with taking care of the cats and wildlife. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Phyllis (Larry) Anderson and their children, Larry (Meghan) Anderson and their children, Emma, Riley, Zachary, Xavier and Brody; Melinda (Jacob) Carlson and their son Zach; Karen (Mat) Subbert and their son, Cliff (Michelle) Subbert; Tony (Renae) Jones and their children, Victoria, Lillian and Wyatt; Christine (Kevin) Bohn and their children, Rebecca and Emily; Erin (Chris) Gumz and their son, Andrew;  further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Deborah, daughter Sarah and siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 12 noon at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the church.  Tom will be laid to rest next to his wife Deborah in the Hancock Cemetery.
