Obituary

Benita R. Smith, age 64 of Wautoma, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 3, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.

She was born April 7, 1958 in Wautoma the daughter of Arturo and Mavis (Wegner) Gonzalez.

Benita lived in Wautoma her entire life where she enjoyed working at Figi’s in Stevens Point. She was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

She is survived by her two children, Patrick Morehead and Misty (special friend, Chris Petersen) Morehead; five grandchildren, Serenity and Issac Morehead and Hayley Petersen, Itayla and Amari Morehead; siblings, Debra (Steve) Kiesner, Linda (Mike) Thomason, Estella (Edward) Leppin, Maria (Vincent) Baurichter, Victor (Julie) Gonzalez; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael and a brother, James.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stahl Celebration & Remembrance Center, Wautoma. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services.
