Daniel Creighbaum Obituary

Daniel L. “Dan” Creighbaum, age 51, of Wild Rose, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah.

Dan was born on August 13, 1969, in Ripon, Wisconsin, to Irene (Krenz) Phillips. He married the love of his life, Tami J. Baughman, on December 13, 2014.

Dan was a 1987 graduate of LP Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. He worked for the railroad until 2001—when he started his career with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) at Waupun Correctional Institute. He later transferred to Redgranite Correctional Institution, where he served the rest of his career. Serving as a part of the DOC was Dan's true calling. Outside of his family, the DOC was his life.

On his days off, Dan enjoyed tending to his pepper garden and making his famous hot pepper spice. As a talented cook, he enjoyed cooking for others (especially his "special" meatballs and mashed potatoes), playing frisbee with his dog Nala, and relaxing to the band Five Finger Death Punch. A devoted fan, you could always find him cheering on his favorite team The Raiders, and of course, watching his boys play ball.

To know Dan was to love him. He was an amazing husband, father, papa, uncle, nephew, friend, and co-worker.

”Dan was such a wonderful human being with an infectious smile and you could always count on the greatest hugs. He had a heart of gold and shared it with everyone he made contact with; he impacted so many and will now continue to do so by giving life to others."

He is survived by his loving wife, Tami; his three sons, Jack (Natasha) Appleton; Ty (Emily) Waupaca; and Keagen (Lily) Plover; his grandson Jack; his brothers, Doyle Creighbaum Florida; Brian (Melinda) Bonnett, Indiana;  his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Kathleen Baughman; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Neil and Melissa Henriksen (Plainfield), Paul and Stephanie Moore (Elroy); his nieces and nephews; Natalie, Chance, PJ, Madelyn, Nick, Alexis and Natalie; his aunts and uncles, Kathy (John) Aron, Bud Trittin, Robert (Jan) Krenz, Howard (Cynthia) Krenz, Edward (Jennie) Krenz, Joyce Krueger and Sandy (Wayne) Kieck, his cousins, his extended corrections family, and many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Doug Trittin, his maternal grandparents, Harold and Esther Krenz; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Caroline Trittin; uncles Ronald Krenz and Scott Krenz; and four cousins Cora and Lena Krenz, Nick Krob and Cole Trittin.

He will be greatly missed by all, especially his four-legged companion, Nala.

Fly high, Superman. And, as Creighbaum always said, “I love you, be safe.”
