Jean Lucille (Wallner) Barden

Jean Lucille (Wallner) Barden, 91, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. 

She grew up in Plainfield, Wisconsin and moved to Milwaukee to attend Evangelical Deaconess Nursing School.  After graduating, Jean and Ellsworth were married on January 3, 1953. They made Milwaukee their home raising six children there.  Jean worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years.  In addition to being an active member of Bay View United Methodist Church, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts and was an excellent cook and baker.

Jean is proceeded in death by her husband Ellsworth Barden, daughter Diana Barden Hung, grandson Jason Truettner, sister Mary Smith, and brothers Donald and Walker Wallner.  Survived by sisters Elizabeth Ingersoll, Lauretta Detlor, Dorothy Helmrick, and Carol Klabunde.  She is survived by five children: Douglas (Sue) Barden, Debra Bartlett, Cindy (Jeffrey) Sheehan, Sandra (Kevin) Quinlan, Shelley (Miguel) Correa and son-in-law John Hung.  Also survived by grandchildren: Christopher (Tashia) Barden, Leann Barden (Bob Clarren), Nichole (Scott) Jensen, Michael Bartlett, Anthony (Rachel) Bartlett, Kathryn Bartlett, Sarah Truettner, Sally Truettner, Aaron (Sarah) Hung, Emily (Matthew) McVay, Zachary (Jessica) Hung, Kelly (David) Bronkalla, Kari Quinlan, Andrew and Dominic Correa.  She was great-grandma to Henry, Arthur Barden; Grant, Kennedy, Reagan, Roosevelt Jensen; Jackson, Juniper Bartlett; Tricia, Amber, Evelyn, Madison Truettner; Julia, Gloria Hung; James, Rosalyn McVay; Olivia, Amelia Bronkalla.

Visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home, 3275 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Stahl Funeral Home, 913 W. North St., Plainfield, Wisconsin with visitation preceeding from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
