Jerome A. "Jerry" Way

   Jerome “Jerry” A. Way, age 74, of Almond, WI passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 23, 2021 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
   Jerry was born at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN on December 28, 1946 to Jerome R. Way and Eleanor I. Way.  Jerry grew up in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.  He had an older brother James R. Way, a younger sister Jane E. (Way) Nechville and a younger brother Richard D. Way. He graduated from Cooper High School in New Hope, MN in June of 1965.  He attended and graduated from St. Cloud State College in Minnesota with a BA degree in mathematics in the spring of 1969. Jerry was drafted into the United States Army in September of 1969 and served in South Vietnam until April of 1971.  He began work at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, WI as an Operation Research Technician in July of 1971. He attended night school in various locations in Wisconsin starting in 1972.  He graduated from the University of Oshkosh in the winter of 1975 with a MBA degree.  He retired from Sentry Insurance in December of 2013. In the summer of 1975, he moved to a farm owned by Ruth Meddaugh. On September 12, 1981 he and Ruth Evelyn Loraine Meddaugh were married.   She preceded him in death on October 27, 2020.
   Jerry is survived by his siblings, James Way (Ramona), Jane (Way) Nechville, Richard Way: his loving nieces and nephews Kevin Way, Leslie Nechville Schmitt (Lionel), Melissa Nechville Isaacson (Paul) and his great- nieces and nephews Jerome, William, Sean, Olivia and Soren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his nephew Scott J. Way.
   Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Visitation will be held from 10:00- 11:00.  Burial will be in the Almond North Cemetery, Almond, Wisconsin.
