Kenneth Winn Obituary

Kenneth Winn, was born May 10, 1934 in Milwaukee to Davier and George Winn.

Elaine Winn, was born January 17, 1937 in Milwaukee to Gladys and Edwin Almekinder.

Elaine learned to play the accordion at an early age, and later gave accordion lessons. She also played the trombone and piano. Ken played the accordion and piano as well. Their love of music was passed on to their daughters. Ken was a self-employed electrician. Mr. Winn was a member of the masonic lodge.  Ken and Elaine enjoyed traveling to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota for many camping and fishing trips over the years. It was Ken’s particular passion. Ken and Elaine also enjoyed square dancing. Ken and Elaine were married in 1954.

They built their first house in Mukwonago, then later moved to Minocqua where they settled on Bolger Lake. After many years they moved to Wautoma where they built their house in the woods and grew apples, grapes and pears in their large garden. They enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Texas  in the winter months, returning in the spring when the snow was gone. Elaine had a great love for serving people and was blessed to work at the Wautoma Food Pantry.

On July 9, 2020 Elaine died suddenly at their home. Ken continued to live at the home with his dog Sunny until January of 2022. He then spent 4 months at the Tomahawk Health Services nursing home where he made many friends and charmed the staff and residents. He died on May 21, 2022 eleven days past his 88th birthday.
