Larry Flyte Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" "Yogi" E. Flyte, aged 75, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 22nd, surrounded by his family at his home. Larry was born on March 19th, 1948 to the late Stanley and Beryl (Kitchen) Flyte in Wild Rose, WI.

On September 7th, 1968, he united in marriage with Karin L. Williams at the United Church of Christ in Berlin, WI. Their unwavering bond stood strong for nearly 55 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

Larry was a lifelong farmer and a cornerstone of his community, showing dedication and leadership in everything he did. For three decades, he served as a key member of the Hancock town board. As the president of the Hancock Sportsman's Club for 40 plus years, he demonstrated his passion for the outdoors and conservation. He also was a Tri-County school forest committee member, maintenance man and watchdog. A founder of the School House Deer Camp, his legacy will forever be etched in its members shared experiences. He also enjoyed his time with the coyote hunting crew in his retired years. The great outdoors was Larry's canvas, where he pursued his passions of hunting, fishing, and nurturing the land. A dedicated steward of nature, his diligent efforts left an indelible mark on the land, woods and waters he held dear.

He is survived by his wife, Karin, as well as his two children, Lori (Matt) Jenks and Kevin (Tonya Sauer) Flyte. His spirit lives on in the laughter and joy of his six grandchildren: Tyler (Amber), Madalyn, Islea, Kelsey, Mia, and Shyloe. He is further survived by his sister Lois Marshall and brother Lee (Cheryl) Flyte.

Larry's influence extends beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a multitude of friends as well as the community. His story is accompanied by the cherished memories of those who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his in-laws Ben and Mary Williams.
