LuVerne Norlin Obituary

LuVerne (Anderson) Norlin, 92, died on December 29, 2019.  LuVerne was a lifelong resident of the Wautoma area.  She was born and raised in West Holden, graduated from Wautoma High School, and lived in Wautoma for the rest of her long life.  She married Austin Norlin in 1946 and they raised five children, Kathy, Pat, Steve, Rita and Craig.  Together they founded Mid-Sate Supply, which is still in operation today.  LuVerne fully retired from Mid-State at the age of 90.

LuVerne is survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ron and Denny, and many nieces and nephews.

She supported and volunteered for her church (Hope Lutheran) through her life and will be missed by many who worked beside her.   She produced hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief.  She served as president of the women’s ELCA and was active in church leadership and membership.

LuVerne was the first woman to serve on the board of Ripon Federal Savings and Loan in the 1970s.  She started the Waushara County Habitat for Humanity annual rummage sale which has successfully raised thousands of dollars to build homes for those in need.  She served on the board of Waushara Industries.

LuVerne loved to laugh; with us and at us!  Her greatest legacy is that she loved and served her Lord, Jesus Christ, and taught that love and service to her family.  As difficult as it is to lose her, we have been blessed to have had this wonderful woman in our lives and thank God for the gift of family.

Funeral Services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 11 with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the church.  The funeral will follow at 11:00 am.

The family asks that any gifts be made in her memory to Heartland House, Wautoma, Agnesian Hospice, Green Lake or to Waushara County Habitat for Humanity.
