Mike has been a lifelong farmer with his family in Woodstock, Illinois and continued with his father when they moved to the Plainfield area in 2003. Michael put his family first and demonstrated his love in every aspect of his life through selfless action. He was firmly rooted in his faith and beliefs; a man of deep integrity. Mike had a joy for life and a salt of the earth sense of humor. He was a kind, common sense type of man. He was generous. Smart. Decisive. Worked hard. Fun! Michael was fun... The kids used him as a jungle gym. Solved problems. Took risks. Eventually learned how to smile on camera after Kim repeatedly asked.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly A. Roby, Plainfield; his loving children, Kayla N. Roby, David M. Roby, Dean J. Roby and Carsten J. Roby; his loving granddaughter, Aubriella; his parents, Michael and Barbara Roby; two sisters, Kerry Adams and Amy Roby; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Kathy Scimeca; further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Betty Roby and Viateur and Emilie Saindon.
