Nancy Ida Webster

   Nancy Ida Webster, age 85 passed away on April 11, 2018 in Arcadia, FL.

   She was born on February 27, 1933 in Norwood Park, IL to the late Carl V. and Ida Fredericka Anderson Pearson. Nancy moved to Arcadia forty-five years ago from Friendship, WI. Nancy was of the Methodist Faith and an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arcadia, FL. Nancy grew up in the Plainfield area.

   Nancy loved meeting new people and a member of the DeSoto County Historical Society.  She genuinely cared and had a way of making everyone she connected with feel special whether it was remembering a special occasion or just sending a "thinking about you" note.  Nancy loved cardinal birds, penguins (which was her high school mascot) and shopping.  Most importantly, she loved her family and the many friends who she thought of as family. 
   She is survived by one daughter Karan W. Cowden (Robert Cave) of Parrish, FL, soulmate and companion J.R. Griffis of Arcadia, FL, stepson Jeff Griffis of Arcadia, FL; two brothers Ralph Pearson of Gatlinburg, TN and Gerald (Carol) Pearson of Salmon, ID, grandchildren Travis W. (Kristen) Cowden, step-granddaughter Kristen (Gregory) Heiden, and special granddaughters Andrea Griffis Carson and Crystal Griffis Ruiz, great-grandchildren Scott Cowden, Taylor Cowden, Ava Grace Carson, Maxson Ruiz, Jordan Heiden and Harlow Heiden, and numerous  nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Herman Pearson and Carl Pearson, Jr. and three sisters Ruth Edwards, June Behringer and Doris Pearson.

   A Memorial Service and Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the United Methodist Church, Plainfield with the Rev. Paul Gregersen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Plainfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Nancy’s name.
