Rory Hasselquist Obituary

Rory J. Hasselquist, age 64, of Mount Morris, passed away peacefully January 21, 2022 at Montello Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born April 5, 1957 in Berlin; the son of Donald and Barbara (Nelson) Hasselquist. Rory was a lifelong resident of Mt. Morris, where he worked as a real estate agent/broker and property caretaker. He married the love of his life and best friend Clari Watson on August 16, 2002.

Rory spent countless hours in the great outdoors; hunting, hiking, camping, fishing and tubing the creek. He was an all-around athlete who loved sports and games with his friends and family. Music was one of his passions and Rory sang a clear bass in a barbershop quartet. An avid traveler, Rory made friends across the globe and could always be counted on for a hilarious joke or witty comment. He was always the first to start laughing and the last to stop! Rory possessed the remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone he met and truly lived his life to the fullest.

Rory will be deeply missed by his wife, Clari Hasselquist; his brother, Rick (Mary) Hasselquist; two nieces, Natalie (Adam) Topper and Kalli (Sam) Peterson; great nephews, Logan, Lucas, and Quinn; and his two trusty pups, Buddy and Jiggy (as well as countless friends and relatives).

A time to celebrate Rory’s life will be held on March 5, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Stahl Celebration and Remembrance Center (W7452 State Road 21/73) Wautoma. To honor Rory’s request to keep everyone safe and healthy, masks will be required.
