Susan was born on May 11, 1930 in Coloma WI, the daughter of the late Alvin and Doris (Parkin) Sorenson. She was married to the late Emmett M Gear on September 24, 1949 in Coloma WI. Their marriage was blessed with 3 sons Jerry, Lee & Greg.

Susan managed the Plainfield Truck Stop restaurant for 20 years. She and Emmett farmed over 500 acres along with their sons on the family farm outside of Hancock. Sue enjoyed polka dancing with Emmett, playing cards with neighbors, flower gardening, cheering on the Brewers, cooking, baking, watching birds in her yard and her family. She lovingly took care of her husband at home during his long battle with Alzheimers.

Sue will be deeply missed by her 3 sons, Jerry (Marilynne) Gear of North Charleston SC, Lee Gear, Greg (Lynn) Gear of Plover; Her 9 grandchildren; Michelle (Aaron Wanta) Gear, Jay (Charisse) Gear, Dianna (Fred) Walter, Kari Gear, Nathan Gear, Christina (Chad) Patrin, Lisa (Eric) Wysong, Nicholas Gear and Jennifer (Brian) Kersey, along with her 20 great grandchildren; Kevin Garlow, Dalton & Brodi Gear, Jacob, Bradley & Ellie Walter, Jordyne Borgesi, Brooke, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Karsen & Paisley Gear; Breynn & Gavin Patrin, Mia, Eric Jr, Grace & Avigail Wysong, Archer & Oliver Kersey.
